Anthony Evans
A Lifelong Love for Racehorses
Anthony’s passion for racehorses began early, working in stables on weekends from the age of 13. Over 15 years, he gained invaluable experience working with leading trainers such as Clarry Conners, Greg Hickman, Peter Moody, Rick Hore-Lacy, and John Hawkes. During this time, Anthony had the privilege of caring for elite horses like Belle Du Jour, Redoute’s Choice, Sportsman, and Domesday.
Anthony’s love for yearlings and pedigrees flourished during his time as Yearling Manager at Baramul Stud, where he played a key role in preparing future champions. It was also at Baramul where Anthony met Kristen, beginning both a professional and personal partnership. Together, they brought their shared dream to life by purchasing their own farm, now the heart of HP Thoroughbreds.

Kristen Evans
Turning Passion into Profession
Kristen grew up surrounded by horses on a property near Gloucester, NSW, spending weekends at pony clubs, shows, and events. Her early love for horses evolved into a professional career that took her around the world, including breeding seasons in Ireland and England. Kristen also earned her Vet Nurse certification, further strengthening her expertise in equine care.
Professionally, Kristen transitioned from yearling work to broodmare management, holding leadership roles such as 9-Day Manager at Baramul Stud and Dry Mare Manager at Widden Stud. Her true passion lies in breeding and vet nursing, cherishing moments like positive scan results, foaling, and watching horses grow into potential stars on the racetrack.
Kristen’s expertise in pinhooking has also brought significant success to HP Thoroughbreds, with the farm consistently ranking among the leading vendors by average at the Inglis Classic sale. Together with Anthony and their two children—who are already showing a passion for thoroughbreds—Kristen is driven to continue building HP Thoroughbreds into a thriving and successful operation.
